Monochromatic Casa en Tres Rios finds lightness in its condition of being heavy

Free of the ornamentation that different materials tend to evoke, the particular quality of Casa en Tres Rios by César Béjar Studio lies in its monochromatic nature. A solid mass inserted between party walls, the house finds lightness in its condition of being heavy, breaking with its surrounding through the use of colour, shape and texture.  César Béjar The only front façade window is a horizontal opening and a zenith opening, recessed inward to protect it from the southern sun.  César Béjar Situated on a site that is longer than it is wide, patios and terraces are contained, private and capable of being enjoyed from interior spaces as if they were outside.  C&e... もっと見る

La Casa del Sapo: Two stones look out to sea

In Zapotengo, Oaxaca, Mexico, the design of La casa del Sapo by Espacio 18 Arquitectura takes a strongly contextual approach to its community and surroundings. In response to the place itself, the house is conceived as ‘two stones looking at the sea, craving for its timelessness.’  Onnis Luque The first stone, or volume, looks for the sunrise while the other one looks for the sun to go down. Winter House

“Winter House” is a single residential unit whose main goal is being a shelter and a setting for the enjoyment of the land property’s pristine privileged nature, such as the outdoors and the country lifestyle. These are the main reasons why the blueprint is organized into four blocks, linked through the occupants’ control of permeability from the inside-out of the residence, for the layout to approach thanks to the textures accomplished on the volumes, rifts and spans, into dynamic filters which extent or restrict spaces in order to the necessities.    Towards the avenue arises a language of materials which holds the sincerity of the natural elements, such as stone and wood, and whose spans emphasize the... もっと見る
