A Music Practice Room and a Cinema Room leading to a gym area within a residential space presents an acoustic treatment solution both for professional audio and home entertainment.
This project included solutions for the acoustic treatment of a Home Theatre and a Music Practice Room within a residential space. The Cinema Room has an additional volume leading to a gym area, which was also acoustically treated in order to control reflections arising from this region.
A Cinema Room or a Home Theatre should provide a neutral acoustic environment to assure a clear and complete experience of the film audio without introducing any acoustic distortions that could compromise its perception. In order to control reflections, Vicoustic has proposed sound-absorbing panels, which will control reflections by taking energy from them (Cinema Round Premium and VicPattern Ultra Wavewood panels). The VicPattern Ultra Wavewood panels will also prevent the room from becoming too acoustically “dry” or “dead” by reflecting a portion of the high-frequency sound energy back into the room. For low-frequency acoustic treatment, Vicoustic has recommended the use of Super Bass Extreme Ultra VMT. Preferably, the bass traps should be located where the maximum pressure levels occur, in the corners of the room.
Good room acoustic conditions in a small music practice room are considered fundamental to support musicians’ skills development, performance, and comfort. To create a sense of envelopment and sound field uniformity for the musicians, Vicoustic has proposed sound-absorbing panels, which will control reflections by taking energy from them (Cinema Round Premium, VicPattern Ultra Wavewood, and Wavewood Ultra Lite panels). To control low frequencies within a small music practice room Vicoustic recommended the use of Super Bass Extreme Ultra installed in the corners.
