Casa Margherita is a renovation of an apartment on the 5th floor of a building near Piazza Amedeo, in the centre of Naples. Inspired by the film “Perfect Strangers”, the interior design project transforms the living space into an eclectic apartment, rich in contaminations that mirror the travel enthusiast owner’s domestic and convivial imagery.
The 90 square metres are reorganized to guarantee ample space to conviviality, without overthrowing the original spatial distribution.
Once inside, a great window shows off the kitchen, while a small corridor on the right leads to a living room, characterized by a blue custom-made bookcase and a corner dedicated to music, which is also wooden and custom-made.
Modern antiques – like Gavina’s Cesca chair – mixed with classical furniture from the beginning of the XX century distinguish the adjacent dining area. From here the kitchen island marks the entrance to the kitchen area – custom-made, with wooden finishes and marble countertops – and where a step defines the border of the sleeping area. With a series of travel photographs hanging over the bed head, the minimal master bedroom follows the whole renovation’s leitmotiv.
